Ps2emu is a port of the original PlayStation 2's emulator written in C++. The latest version of the software, pS2EMU alpha v0.3, is compatible with Windows XP and Linux, and features a plugin system which can be used to install different emulator cores. The core which it comes bundled with is called "Scph1001", which emulates games for older PlayStation 1 devices. The emulator's GUI is minimalistic, featuring only a few buttons. The last version of this software was released in 2005, however the author claims that he is still working on this project, though there have been no releases since 2005. It has also been ported to Phobos with some modifications. It works on most operating systems supported by Phobos, most notably Windows Vista and Linux, but not Mac OS X or Solaris.
